No matter what time of year it may be there is a chance that storms may knock out the power in your home or business and this is where a portable electric generator may come in handy. An electric generator which is portable in nature allows you to have a backup energy source should one be needed. There are a few tips you should keep in mind when shopping around for this type of generator.

Consider the Rated Capacity of the Generator

Different electric generators which have portable characteristics will come in different power levels. The rated capacity of the generator is the level of power which it can generate on a continual basis. Consider what size you may need in order to adequately provide backup power to the home should the electric go out on you.

Click here to view all the bestselling Portable Electric Generators ~ online for low prices and fast shipping…

Look at the Voltage Ratings

You should also consider the voltage ratings of both the portable electric generator and of the necessary appliances which you want to be able to operate should the power go out. You will find that wattage amounts such as 120-volts and 240-volts are often seen. Therefore, you must be certain that the voltage rating of the electric generator is similar to that of the appliances.

Consider Start Up Wattage

Not only must you consider the wattage needed to operate the appliances on a continual basis but you must also keep in mind that the generator should be able to handle the start up wattage for these items. The start up wattage is the amount of power it will take to get the appliances up and running.

Think About Your Budget

These types of generators are definitely affordable in cost however they can be pricey depending on the model which you choose. Shop around for the type of generator which is best suited for your home. Keep in mind that these items are often used on a need-be basis therefore you may not have to get a top of the line model in order to have it work properly for you. If you are shopping on a budget you are sure to be able to find a perfectly good portable generator for your home or business.

Purchase Any Additional Parts with the Generator

Also, many electric generators which have portable capabilities will require additional parts to be used alongside of them. These items will depend on the type of generator it is and for what reason the generator will be used. Therefore, prior to heading home after buying a new portable generator you should inquire about what extra parts may be needed in order to get your generator up and running. You can look at the box in which the generator is placed or inquire with someone who works at the home improvement store or generator sales store. It is a good idea to buy all necessary parts at the same time that you purchase your portable electric generator as this will ensure that you get everything you need in order to put your generator to good use.

If you are stumped for ideas on how to cost effectively add to the décor of your home, you might want to consider adding and indoor wall fountain. These fountains can transfer an entire area and make a lasting impression on your guest. There are some things that you should consider when you are purchasing these fountains.

Picking a Style

When you are looking to purchase your indoor wall fountain you will have many styles to choose from so you want to really look at the room or area where you plan to mount it. The style of that area will help narrow down the large variety of styles available. For example if your living room is more on the traditional side the last thing you want to add is a large ornate dragon head wall fountain. This will not complement the décor; it will just stand out like a sore thumb and may actually look a little tacky.

Click here to view all the bestselling Indoor Wall Fountains ~ online for low prices and fast shipping…

Perhaps a more suitable style for a traditionally decorated room might be an indoor wall fountain that is made from rock or a simple style of design that incorporates other outdoor elements such as wood. When choosing a fountain to complement your home it is important that the piece actually embodies the room’s style. So if you have a very modern room you should look for a fountain with clean lines and maybe something done in a bold color. Once you have your style figured out you then need to prominently display it.

Making the Fountain a Focal Point

If you are going to add a wall fountain to a room you should make sure that it is a focal point of the area. A good example of this is having the fountain placed in your foyer. This allows your guest to see it immediately which will help them feel the atmosphere in your home. Bring in natural aspects such as water into a prominent place in your home gives the home a very welcoming feeling. Water is very soothing so your home will radiate warmth and invitingness to your guest.

There are two very good ways to help make the fountain the focal point of a room. The first way is by adding a mirror across the room from it. This helps to bounce light off of the fountain which in turn gives it a natural highlight. Another effective way to add prominence to the wall fountain is by adding a light fixture to it. Some prefer to add it above the fountain other have a preference to having a floor light which acts more like a spotlight. Either way will make the water from the fountain “play” with the light and give it a deeper more interesting appearance.

When you are looking for ways to spruce up your home’s décor without spending an outrageous amount for a home makeover, try bringing the outdoors inside. One of the most cost effective ways to accomplish this is by adding an indoor wall fountain.

It would be a great project to make a hummingbird feeder. You could make one on your own as an avid hummingbird watcher. You could also make one with your kids as a fun activity together that will teach them to love and appreciate hummingbirds themselves.

Hummingbird Feeders

Feeders for hummingbirds are actually sold in stores. Any pet or specialty bird shop will offer you a great selection of finely made bird feeders. Do remember though that the hummingbirds have no sense of appreciation for beautiful and expensive feeders. What they are really after is the nectar in the feeder. This means you can easily feed hummingbirds from makeshift homemade feeders. So if you don’t want to spend on your feeder, you could just make one on your own.

Click here to view all the bestselling Hummingbird Feeders ~ online for low prices and fast shipping…

Homemade Feeder Ideas

There are many types of homemade feeders. You can improvise in any way you want. You can also use a variety of materials from small shallow dessert dishes to empty soda bottles. Here are some great and simple ides to make your own feeder.

Option 1: Get an old red plastic cup and punch some holes on the bottom. Punch four equidistant holes on the sides of the top open rim of the cup and thread four long, separate pieces of yarn through them. Set the cup aside. Fill the soda bottle with nectar and put the cup over the bottle. Invert the cup and bottle and use the yarn to tie the feeder to a branch.

Option 2: Make a hummingbird feeder by cutting a hole on the cap of a soda bottle. Use a glue gun to glue the sides of the cap to a small cup. Screw a hook on the bottom of the soda bottle. Fill the bottle with nectar and screw the cap on. Invert and hang the bottle.

Option 3: Drill holes on the cap of an old glass jar. Fill the jar with nectar to the brim and screw the cap on. Glue a few layers of wire around the sides of the cap and use any remaining wire to hang the jar on a branch.

Option 4: Get a square piece of wood and drill holes on all four corners. String yarn through all the four holes. Glue a shallow plate on the surface of the piece of wood and hang the open feeder using the yarn.

Feeder Making Tips

You can have your own unique way of making a hummingbird feeder. There are however a couple of general reminders that hold true for all homemade feeder projects.

You might want to consider painting your homemade feeder. Hummingbirds are only attracted to feeders that are colorful. The best color to consider would be red. Do remember though not to use paint that is toxic or that can be washed off. No hummingbird will drink paint flavored nectar.

Kids should always be supervised when making homemade feeders. Many feeders are made using drills, nails, hammers, knives and hot glue.

Feeders have to be clean. Before you fill that soda bottle, make sure you have cleaned it properly. Feeders should also be regularly washed. Hummingbirds only feed from clean feeders.

You don’t need to buy expensive nectar from stores. You can make your own simple nectar mix. You can just add one small cup of sugar to four small cups of water and you already have a sweet solution to feed the birds. Others suggest boiling the water and sugar mix.

There really is no need to spend a lot just to enjoy the sight of hummingbirds. You can always make a hummingbird feeder with materials that you already have at home.

Basic principles of being a good parent are:

Number 1: Treat your kids the way you wanted to be treated when you were a kid. You did not want parents who were always in your business you wanted parents who kept a safe distance and that is what you need to do for your kids.

Number 2: Modify your parenting skills to match your child. If you have more than one child , keep the basics the same such as basic rules but as to individual rules, each child is different so you can’t use the same techniques or play the same developmentally roles in each child because each child is an individual.

Number 3: Set up rules for your child such as a curfew but sit down and explain each rule with them as they are set so you know that they understand. You should always know two things. Where your child is and what they are doing.

Number 4: Encourage your child’s independence. You want to help them become independent . They can choose their own clothes and choose what foods they want to eat. Let them decorate their rooms their way and as they grow up they will learn to make the right choices and make the right decisions.

Number 5: Talk to your child do not lecture. Kids tend to rebel more when you lecture. Explain to your child why they cannot do what they want all the time, explain to them the rules and why they have to follow them. Try to never say the words Because I said So.

Number 6: Treat your child with respect and they will do the same for you.
